Transition

I have been debating with myself whether I would write this post or not, and it seems that I won the argument. If you have been following my blog posts or podcasts lately you know that I have been dealing with a back injury that I suffered during a training exercise at work. I still can’t go into much detail about it, but I am happy to say that after six months of dealing with stabbing back pain and numbness in my foot, I finally had surgery a week ago.

My pain seems to be improving, by which I mean the pain from the surgery. The previous pain I experienced has been gone since the surgery. Again, I cannot go into more detail, but the result of this injury is that I have had to medically retire from the fire service after twenty years with the same department with half the time spent as volunteer and half as career.

If you have wondered why you haven’t heard from me in a little while, it’s because I’ve been in recovery mode. So as I make this transition, please stick around to see what we are up to. Hopefully as my symptoms improve I will be able to continue to do more each day. We have some exciting things planned. Stay tuned…
