For What Purpose?
This is what it’s all about! As a society it seems that we continue to search for the next best answer. To what question depends on your current situation. For many, the question is, “How can I improve my mental health?” At The Fight With Depression, we’ve been working for years to help answer that question. One way we do this is through teaching new skills, which is beneficial in improving our mental health. 1
Whether you have listened to the podcast, followed our woodworking or photography pages, or this is the first time you have accessed our website, our goal is to have something to help encourage you. Unfortunately we cannot take our mobile woodshop to everyone, but we hope that we can impact not only those we bring it to, we can also encourage others who keep up-to-date on our journey.
But How?
Having the mobile woodshop allows me to meet people where they are. Whether it’s taking it to a fire station (such as in this video) or to a church or business, I am able to bring the tools with me where I go.
Not only does this provide the benefit of learning new skills, but we also enjoy a sense of community. Both of these have been proven to improve our mental health. 2 I have seen the positive impact of a person holding something they have made and feeling a sense of pride and ownership. That’s what we’re all about, and that’s what we strive for.
As I asked in the video: What have you done to improve your mental health today? And what have you done to help someone else improve their mental health? Let’s stop making excuses and let’s start making a positive change.
Thank you for checking out our website. Please continue to check in to see what we’re up to next.
