Love Your Existence: You Are Not a Mistake

When depression tries to tell you that you don’t belong, that your life is a fluke or a burden, it’s a lie. The truth is, your existence is a miracle so rare it defies imagination.

Think about this: the odds of you parents having you—exactly as you are—are about 1 in 25 trillion.¹ That’s a number so massive it’s hard to wrap your head around—25 followed by 12 zeros! It’s the chance that, out of every possible twist in your parents’ lives, you were the one who arrived.² And that’s just one generation. Stretch it back 10 generations—your ancestors, their struggles, their victories—and the odds soar to 1 in a number with over 6,000 zeros (roughly 2 × 10^6,846).³ That’s more than the grains of sand on every beach on Earth.

You didn’t just happen. You beat odds so astronomical they make winning the lottery look like a sure bet. It wasn’t by accident. Every moment that led to you had to align perfectly. That’s not a mistake—that’s a masterpiece.

Now think about this: these staggering odds are based on your ancestors, your parents, having already been “predestined” to meet each other. This does not account for the odds of them never having met.

So when the darkness creeps in, telling you you’re insignificant, remember this: you’re here for a reason, even if you can’t see it yet. Your life is a rare gift, a spark that beat impossible odds to shine. Hold onto that truth. You are not a mistake—you’re a once-in-a-God-given miracle.

Need a lifeline? Reach out. You’re not alone in this fight.
